Randoli Perahera Days 3 (and Day 2) are considered to be the spiritual high point of the festival with the onset of the day portion on Day 3. The power of the process is nearly irresistible, drawing all into the current of the sacred.

This is the night many make voiceless wishes for fulfillment: conquering adversity, discovering a sense of purpose, or recovering from emotional trauma. The dancers are precise and graceful, and the pounding of the drums becomes the pulse of a people in prayer.

Its spiritual intensity, devotees believe, can yield answers, if not miracles. The parade stops being a cultural pageant, but a divine passageway of blessings down through the ages.
