The fourth night of the Kumbal Perahera is considered a transition night, when the merits accumulated in the previous nights bear fruit. The procession becomes even more extravagant and, in the same measure, the degree of devotion.

Numerous feel that it is this night to come and receive the closure from what’s been ailing them—illness, bad luck, or emotional baggage. This is a significant night for older adults because it’s a time of recollecting the blessings of previous years and a way to spiritual tranquility.

As the Sacred Casket is borne by, carried in a splendour of colour, fire, and ceremonial, myriad hearts thrill with hope and veneration. Now, the faithful are mouthing their vows again in the trust that very ancient powers are listening.
