The Kumbal Perahera, the initial phase of the Kandy Esala Perahera, holds deep spiritual and cultural importance in Sri Lanka. This belief, rooted in centuries-old oral tradition, remains a living part of Buddhist rural society in the central highlands of Sri Lanka.
